Avalanche-based battle royale shooter Off the Grid has seen a successful launch but faces challenges as the initial hype diminishes. To retain players and evolve the game, key improvements are necessary before leaving early access. The author identifies five crucial upgrades: 1) Better damage indicators are needed for players to easily assess their health during gameplay. 2) A new map is planned but should be prioritized sooner, as the current linear map design is not engaging. 3) Loadout drops should be made harder to acquire to encourage varied gameplay. 4) The current implementation of cinematic narratives feels out of place and should be optional, allowing players to focus on action. 5) The marketplace requires adjustments, as a subscription model for selling items restricts player engagement; a transaction fee would be a fairer alternative. These enhancements could ensure Off the Grid maintains its player base and fulfills its potential in the gaming community.
