Centralized data networks have been structurally broken for years due to single points of failure, leading to significant data breaches and losses, estimated at $10 trillion in 2024 alone. The reliance on centralized networks poses severe risks for sensitive information, affecting both private and public sectors. Recent advancements in generative AI highlight the importance of securely connecting sensitive user data to cloud AI services, which typically rely on public cloud networks like AWS. Concerns regarding transparency, security verification, and the risk of single points of failure hinder adoption. Web3 cloud platforms, specifically Blockchain-Orchestrated Confidential Cloud (BOCC), present a solution by using confidential hardware and smart contracts to enhance security. BOCC networks allow users to verify data usage and ensure workload transparency while minimizing risks associated with centralized networks. This technology not only addresses concerns for cloud AI but could be applied universally to improve security for various infrastructures, suggesting blockchain orchestration as a vital remedy for today's digital vulnerabilities.
