A recent AI-generated video has begun circulating on YouTube, targeting XRP holders by impersonating Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen. The video falsely claims that Ripple is giving back all of its XRP instead of burning 150 million as usual, promising viewers they can double their holdings by visiting a specific website. This website likely leads to a phishing scheme where victims are instructed to send their funds to a scammer's address. In another incident, a trader lost over $300,000 in memecoin MicroStrategy 2100 after inadvertently transferring their tokens to a known phishing account, mistaking it for a legitimate transaction. Just prior to the loss, the trader had profited greatly when the coin's value surged. Additionally, a data breach at the Internet Archive exposed hashed passwords of 31 million users, potentially leading to an increase in phishing attempts targeting those individuals. Users are advised to change passwords and remain vigilant against phishing attacks.
