NFT project Azuki has introduced ANIME, a new token themed around Japanese cartoons, with 50.5% of its supply dedicated to the community. Following the announcement, the price of Azuki NFTs jumped by 9.1%, with the cheapest NFT priced at 13.77 ETH (approximately $42,000). Azuki has also acquired Anime.com, which is set to launch with Animecoin, aiming to foster a global anime community. The distribution strategy allocates 37.5% of the token supply to be fully unlocked at launch, while an additional 13% will be controlled by ANIME holders through a future AnimeDAO, which will fund community initiatives. Azuki's team and advisors will receive 15.6% of the token supply, locked for three years. This move follows the trend established by other NFT projects like Pudgy Penguins, which launched its PENGU token in December, achieving a market cap of $1.87 billion.
