Off the Grid, the Avalanche-based battle royale shooter, recently launched its most significant update since its early access debut in October. This update includes an overhaul of scoped weapons, introducing a new aiming system known as TrueFPV, which enhances the experience of using sniper rifles and other scoped weapons by making first-person elements feel more integrated. Additionally, improvements to weapon performance include a 10% to 20% frames-per-second (FPS) boost for PCs and a 10% to 40% improvement on consoles. Changes to player backpacks enhance visual communication of their functions, while a nerf to the Gridshield Backpack limits its damage reduction effectiveness. Furthermore, the patch notes include extensive changes to weapon and cyberlimb mechanics and adjustments to in-game movement, which some players have perceived as a slowing of gameplay. These changes are geared toward preparing the game for an upcoming ranked mode, aiming to refine the gameplay experience and balance.
