Bitfarms signs hosting agreement for 10,000 Bitcoin miners with Stronghold
Bitfarms has entered into a second hosting agreement with Stronghold Digital Mining, enabling the deployment of an additional 10,000 Bitcoin miners at Stronghold's Scrubgrass site in Pennsylvania. This move comes as part of Bitfarms' strategy to optimize operations, with CEO Ben Gagnon highlighting that integrating with Stronghold's power generation infrastructure will help control power costs and enhance efficiency. The initial terms of the agreement will last until December 31, 2025, with a 50% profit share clause benefiting Stronghold. Despite this expansion, Bitfarms' stock saw a 10% decline, reflecting a broader downturn in the crypto market, which has seen a 6% retreat recently. Bitfarms currently operates 12 Bitcoin data centers and has additional operations underway, with an emphasis on utilizing renewable energy sources.
