BlackRock has announced the launch of a new Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) on Cboe Canada, aimed at providing Canadian investors access to its flagship U.S. spot Bitcoin fund, the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). The Canadian ETF will trade under the same ticker symbol, IBIT, with shares also available in U.S. Dollars as IBIT.U. The U.S. IBIT ETF has seen considerable success, attracting over $37 billion in net inflows since its launch in January 2024. Analysts from Steno Research predict that Bitcoin ETFs may garner an additional $48 billion in net inflows throughout 2025, fueled by rising institutional demand. Despite the recent surge in U.S. Bitcoin ETFs, Grayscale's Bitcoin Trust experienced significant outflows. The increasing popularity of Bitcoin is noted by JPMorgan, highlighting record inflows into crypto markets, which could positively impact Bitcoin's price in the coming year.
