Circle has launched Paymaster, a new product enabling users to pay transaction fees on Arbitrum and Base networks using USDC, a well-known stablecoin, instead of the native token, ether. This development simplifies the user experience by alleviating the need to manage various tokens across different blockchains. Paymaster will automatically convert USDC payments into the required native tokens for blockchain validators. Initially, the service incurs a fee of 10% on gas costs, although this fee will be waived until June 30 to promote user adoption. Future expansions of this service are planned, including integration with Ethereum, Polygon POS, and Solana. Circle, which operates the $48 billion USDC, aims to streamline the interaction with decentralized applications for its users.
