Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has endorsed several Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate in the upcoming November elections, specifically backing candidates like John Deaton and David McCormick due to their pro-crypto stances. Armstrong expressed his support on social media, encouraging voters in Pennsylvania to choose McCormick for being the stronger pro-crypto option. Deaton, a lawyer associated with the XRP case, is campaigning to unseat Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, whom Armstrong criticizes for her opposition to the crypto industry and her role in appointing SEC Chair Gary Gensler. Despite his political endorsements, Armstrong has not yet backed a presidential candidate, stating that the next U.S. administration will be favorable to crypto regardless of the political party in power. Coinbase has shifted from its previous apolitical stance to actively advocating for crypto-friendly policies through its project, Stand With Crypto.
