Consensys has announced the launch of its decentralized Infura as an Actively Validated Service (AVS) on EigenLayer, aimed at enhancing accessibility and reducing development costs for Web3 infrastructure. This initiative is part of their Decentralized Infrastructure Network (DIN), which serves as a decentralized API marketplace for blockchain services. By utilizing EigenLayer’s architecture, DIN is set to achieve improved reliability and facilitate easier service deployment across various blockchain platforms. EigenLayer’s restaking features provide staking and slashing protections without requiring unnecessary token launches. The introduction of DIN as an AVS marks a significant move towards a more efficient decentralized infrastructure, building on Ethereum's economic security. EigenLayer shows considerable growth, with its total value locked increasing significantly in 2024, illustrating the growing interest in restaking protocols.
