Crypto.com has expanded its services in Australia by acquiring Fintek Securities, enabling the exchange to offer equities, derivatives, and forex trading under its Australian Financial Services Licence. This acquisition allows Crypto.com to launch trading on various stock exchanges, including the Australian Securities Exchange and international markets such as the London Stock Exchange and Nasdaq. Vakul Talwar, Crypto.com's general manager for Australia, emphasized that this move represents a significant step in bridging traditional finance and crypto. The platform aims to integrate traditional brokerage capabilities to provide users with access to a diversified range of investment assets. Additionally, while crypto regulations in Australia are evolving, Talwar mentioned the company’s collaboration with local authorities to promote clear guidelines. Back in October 2023, Crypto.com also registered as a broker-dealer with the U.S. SEC to offer stocks and equity options in the U.S. market, illustrating its commitment to expanding its trading services beyond cryptocurrencies.
