Francesco Pierangeli, deputy director of the Centre for Blockchain Technologies (CBT) in the UK, underscores the importance of collaboration among academics, regulators, and Web3 builders for the growth of the crypto space. Speaking at the Peer-to-Peer Financial Systems Workshop in Dubai, he noted that many innovative ideas in crypto, including foundational concepts of Bitcoin, originate from academic research. Pierangeli emphasized the need for regulators to engage with academia to break down existing silos, which have limited communication between stakeholders. This collaboration could help regulators better understand the industry's needs and future developments. He expressed optimism about the future of crypto, highlighting ongoing institutional adoption and the presence of intelligent innovators in this space. Although predicting the exact trajectory of crypto in the coming years remains challenging, Pierangeli believes in a continued upward trend.
