Crypto stocks close on huge gains riding Donald Trump’s US election win
U.S. crypto stocks surged following Donald Trump's election win and a new all-time high for Bitcoin. Traders expressed optimism that the pro-crypto Republican party, which has gained control of both the Senate and the White House, could facilitate the passage of crypto-friendly legislation. Coinbase Global Inc. (COIN) saw the highest gain, closing up 31.11%, while Robinhood Markets Inc. (HOOD) rose 19.6%, and Marathon Digital Holdings (MARA) also increased significantly. Other Bitcoin miners like Riot Platforms Inc. (RIOT) and CleanSpark Inc. (CLSK) reported gains between 23% and 26%. Trump’s proposed strategic Bitcoin stockpile further fueled market optimism. As the election results showed Trump leading in essential swing states, the potential for Republican control over Congress raised hopes for two stalled GOP-backed crypto bills' revival. Bitcoin's price reached $76,509.56 on Coinbase, contributing to the stock price rally.
