A cryptocurrency whale has garnered over $11.5 million from an investment in the Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL) token within 19 days. This unknown investor purchased over $10 million in VIRTUAL, which is the utility token for a platform that allows users to create autonomous AI agents. According to Lookonchain, the whale's initial investment of $10 million, which converted to 4.25 million VIRTUAL tokens, increased in value to $21.5 million. The token began to gain traction on November 15 when it surged over 44% in a single day, reaching an all-time high of $5.07 on January 2, 2025. AI agents are increasingly being recognized for their potential in enhancing online productivity and financial opportunities. An illustrative scenario includes Luna, an AI agent that successfully executed a transaction with STIX Protocol to generate images. Although AI-focused cryptocurrencies experienced a decline at the end of 2024, the emerging interest in decentralized AI agents and tokenized assets suggests potential growth in 2025, as commented by industry expert Alvin Kan.
