Valentina Picozzi, an Italian artist and orthodontist, unveiled a disappearing statue honoring Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, in Lugano, Switzerland. The project took a total of 21 months to complete; 18 months were spent in study and research, followed by three months of construction. The statue, made from 304 stainless steel and corten block, features a unique slit design that allows viewers to see through it from direct angles, symbolizing the elusive nature of Satoshi. This art installation celebrates Lugano’s transformation into a hub for digital innovation under Mayor Michele Foletti's leadership. The statue is currently located in front of the Villa Ciani and will eventually be part of Parco Ciani's permanent collection, though its final resting place is yet to be determined. Lugano has embraced Bitcoin for the past three years, hosting industry leaders and enthusiasts during events aimed at promoting digital innovations.
