Dogecoin Jumps to 3-Year High Price—Before Bitcoin Cools and Meme Coins Plunge
Dogecoin has reached a three-year peak, trading above $0.475, a level not seen since May 2021. This surge, attributed to a recent market upswing, saw DOGE increase by 195% in the last 30 days and 430% over the past year. However, the excitement was short-lived, as Dogecoin has since fallen by 12% within 24 hours, contributing to a broader decline in the cryptocurrency market, which is down nearly 5%. Bitcoin, after hitting an all-time high of $99,645, has also seen a dip to $96,725. Other meme coins, including Brett, Bonk, and Pepe, faced even steeper declines of 10% or more. Despite the recent highs, the volatility characteristic of meme coins continues to impact their performance dramatically.
