EigenLayer, the largest restaking platform on Ethereum, is expanding its offerings by introducing wrapped Bitcoin (uniBTC) yield and payouts from node operator P2P.org. Announced on Nov. 4, ARPA Network will reward depositors of uniBTC, creating new liquidity pathways for BTC holders. P2P.org, EigenLayer's leading validator, also distributed $2.2 million in Ether to restakers on the same day. Restaking allows tokens that are already staked to be used as collateral for securing multiple protocols, with EigenLayer backing various third-party services and holding over $10 billion in restaked collateral. EigenLayer has initiated a rewards program in its native token EIGEN to enhance restaking adoption, linking staker rewards to the number of actively validated services they support. As of Nov. 5, P2P.org had over $540 million in restaked assets and competes with other service providers. The recent developments come as EigenLayer aims to onboard consumer Web3 applications following the EIGEN token unlock, which has put pressure on the platform to scale its revenues.
