El Salvador and Bhutan have experienced significant increases in the value of their Bitcoin holdings as the cryptocurrency approaches $90,000. As of November 12, Bitcoin hit a new price high of $89,700, boosting its market capitalization closer to $2 trillion. El Salvador's Bitcoin holdings, which were valued at around $402 million on November 5, surged by over $100 million to $523 million within a week, bringing their total holdings to about 5,900 BTC since their initial investment in September 2021. Meanwhile, Bhutan's Bitcoin assets have also escalated in value, totaling approximately $1.03 billion across about 12,568 BTC, alongside additional holdings in Ether and other tokens. In April 2023, Bhutan was involved in cryptocurrency investments with companies that have since declared bankruptcy, but with current prices soaring, officials signaled possible plans to realize profits from their assets.
