Elon Musk-led ‘DOGE’ set to be sued after Trump’s inauguration
Elon Musk's agency, associated with the DOGE project, is facing a lawsuit shortly after Donald Trump's inauguration. The legal complaint, prepared by the public interest law firm National Security Counselors, alleges violations of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) of 1972. The complaint highlights that DOGE, which is designed to enhance government efficiency, is accused of not adhering to federal transparency laws required of advisory committees. The act mandates that such committees follow strict disclosure and hiring procedures, including public meeting records and attendance rights. Kel McClanahan, the executive director of the firm, stated that DOGE cannot be exempted from these requirements, emphasizing the need for accountability in government dealings.
