Haichao Zhu, co-founder of Rooch Network, was robbed at knifepoint in Bangkok while traveling alone after arriving on a late-night flight, just days before the Ethereum Devcon conference. The incident occurred at 4:30 AM local time, where the assailants stole his phone but did not cause any injuries, leading to warnings for other attendees about nighttime safety. Zhu remarked that while Bangkok is generally safe, vigilance is necessary. This robbery is part of a troubling trend, as multiple violent incidents have been reported at similar crypto events, including Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC) in Brussels where attendees faced assaults and threats. The Devcon conference is set to take place from November 12-15 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, attracting high-profile figures such as Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.
