The European Union launched the Trusted Investors Network to attract venture capital to deep-tech sectors such as biotechnology and artificial intelligence. Announced by EU Commissioner Iliana Ivanova on October 21 during a meeting in Greece, the initiative aims to enhance investment in European tech startups. The network has enlisted 71 investors with over 90 billion euros committed to investing in deep-tech firms. Ivanova emphasized the importance of this collaboration to foster innovation in Europe. The initiative aligns with recommendations from a European Central Bank report advocating for more significant investments in the region's technology sector. Greece's increasing engagement in tech is evidenced by projects like Dronamics, the region's first cargo drone airline, and a new data center supported by Paris-based Data4. Additionally, Greece is working on a national strategy with leading tech and science experts to further its tech landscape.
