Euroclear has strategically invested in Marketnode, a blockchain infrastructure provider based in Singapore, marking its first investment in Asia. The investment aims to enhance Euroclear’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region. Marketnode operates two platforms: Gateway tokenization service and Fundnode investment fund infrastructure, the latter of which will bolster Euroclear’s FundsPlace fund offering. Euroclear’s CEO for APAC, Philippe Laurensy, emphasized the importance of this investment for the company's growth in Asia. The financial details of the investment remain undisclosed, but Euroclear joins other significant stakeholders like SGX Group’s Singapore Exchange, Temasek, and HSBC in Marketnode. The involvement of Euroclear has been recognized by Temasek's managing director, who noted Marketnode's potential in developing global digital infrastructure. Euroclear has a history of engaging with blockchain technology, including digital assets and experimentation with central bank digital currency projects, processing nearly $1 quadrillion in securities transactions last year.
