European investors pour record $105B into US Bitcoin ETFs
European investors have invested over $105 billion year-to-date into spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States, setting a new record. This surge in investment was reported by Eric Balchunas, a senior ETF analyst at Bloomberg, who noted that local flows into US-focused ETFs have reached an all-time high. Despite this influx of capital, the price of Bitcoin has struggled to bounce back above the $70,000 mark, which it last reached on July 29. The growing demand from European investors is significant, especially as Bitcoin previously surged past $50,000 in February 2024, partially due to inflows from US Bitcoin ETFs. As such investments continue, there are expectations that they might help push Bitcoin towards a new all-time high, despite the current stagnation in its price. This development reflects broader trends in the cryptocurrency market and signals strong interest from institutional players.
