A former Binance executive, Amrita Srivastava, has filed a lawsuit against the cryptocurrency exchange, claiming she was terminated for raising concerns about bribery. Srivastava, a senior employee based in London, alleged that a colleague accepted a bribe disguised as consultative services to expedite customer integration into Binance. In her filing, she stated that the experience with Binance was damaging to her career. The lawsuit follows the dismissal of an investigation team’s head for uncovering potential fraud among the company’s ‘VIP’ customers. Srivastava claimed she reported the bribery in April 2023 and was fired shortly afterward, a month later. Binance maintains that her dismissal was due to performance issues and that the bribery complaint was already under investigation. Srivastava, who joined Binance in April 2022 after a stint at Mastercard, expressed that colleagues sought to rectify compliance issues but instead experienced a chaotic work environment where pressures for deal closure prevailed.
