It anticipates the metaverse's global revenue could hit $800 billion in 2024, contributing over $3 trillion to the global GDP by 2031. Meanwhile, the Lazarus Group, a North Korean hacking group, exploited a Google Chrome vulnerability through a fake playable NFT game titled DeTankZone. This malicious game was used to install spyware that extracted users' wallet credentials. In another development, Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund has backed the Patrons NFT collection, pushing its investments to $67.7 million, despite a downturn in the overall NFT market. Lastly, Hollywood director Roland Emmerich is set to create a TV series based on a Web3 game called Space Nation, which incorporates NFTs as in-game assets.
