Tether has invested in Quantoz, a Dutch stablecoin company, which is launching euro and US dollar stablecoins known as EURQ and USDQ. These E-Money Tokens (EMTs) are issued on the Ethereum blockchain by Quantoz, an Electronic Money Institution authorized by the Dutch Central Bank. Both tokens were recently listed by exchanges Bitfinex and Kraken. Anil Hansjee from Fabric Ventures highlighted the challenges to succeed in stablecoin issuance in Europe, emphasizing the need for regulatory compliance and proper financial backing. In a related development, Paxos acquired Membrane Finance, aiming to enhance its stability in issuing compliant stablecoins in the EU. Membrane holds an EMI license in Finland. Other funding highlights include Monkey Tilt raising $30 million in Series A, Valantis Labs securing $7.5 million, OpenLayer raising $5 million, and Barter DeFi completing a $3 million seed round.
