Ignoring blockchain may cost politicians at the polls — Digital Chamber CEO
As the 2024 United States presidential election approaches, advocates for cryptocurrency caution that opposition to blockchain technology could be a critical misstep for politicians, comparable to resisting the internet in the 90s. Perianne Boring, CEO of the Digital Chamber, highlighted in a recent webinar that approximately 25% of Democrats and 21% of Republicans would be more likely to support candidates with a positive stance on cryptocurrency. With only 2% of Democrats and 3% of Republicans indicating they would be less likely to vote for pro-crypto candidates, Boring suggests that adopting a pro-crypto position is relatively low-risk politically. In addition, industry experts predict more favorable policy developments for digital assets in the upcoming term compared to the last four years, although significant regulatory changes are unlikely to happen quickly.
