Maker is considering a rebrand just two months after introducing its new SKY governance token, with only 10.7% of MKR holders converting to SKY since its launch. The rebrand aimed to enhance appeal due to MKR's high price but has not yielded the expected results, especially with SKY failing to be listed on centralized exchanges. Rune Christensen, Maker's co-founder, pointing out the DeFi community's loyalty to the Maker brand, has outlined three voting choices for October 28: continue with SKY, revert entirely to the Maker brand, or update the original branding. Despite criticisms about spending $50 million on the rebrand, Christensen emphasized that not all expenses were solely for rebranding, and cited successful launches, including a USDS integration with Aave, as evidence of ongoing progress.
