MARA CEO advocates Bitcoin investment for retail investors
Fred Thiel, CEO of Bitcoin mining firm MARA Holdings, recommends that retail investors adopt an invest-and-forget strategy for Bitcoin. In a recent interview with FOX Business, he noted that Bitcoin's price has only decreased in three of the last 14 years, highlighting its strong long-term performance. Thiel encourages individuals, including his own children, to invest a small amount in Bitcoin monthly and let it grow over time, typically increasing by an average of 29% to 50% yearly. He pointed out potential catalysts for Bitcoin's rise in 2025, such as increased institutional adoption and favorable regulatory conditions under the incoming Trump Administration. Additionally, a poll conducted by MicroStrategy’s executive chairman revealed that a significant majority of respondents plan to increase their Bitcoin holdings in 2025. MARA has shifted its treasury policy to retain all mined Bitcoin, holding 44,394 BTC valued at approximately $4.3 billion, marking a 192.5% increase from the previous year.
