Mech shooter game MetalCore is set to migrate from Ethereum’s Immutable zkEVM to Solana next month, coinciding with the launch of its second season. Developer Studio 369 cited Solana’s capability to process numerous transactions and its expanding ecosystem as reasons for the transition. Matt Candler, the company's president and CEO, highlighted Solana’s impressive performance, maintaining 99.95% uptime while facilitating billions in transactions. Originally intended to launch on Ethereum’s layer-2 in late 2023, delays led to significant adjustments for the team. Despite initial setbacks, Studio 369 noted a successful open beta release via the Epic Games Store, generating over $100,000 in asset sales from non-crypto users. The game will also leverage Solana Labs’ platform to simplify user engagement in its in-game economy. Players will need to migrate their NFTs and tokens to Solana as the transition approaches, with further details expected soon.
