Japan's Metaplanet Inc. has announced its inclusion in the CoinShares Blockchain Global Equity Index, a key benchmark tracking leading public companies in the blockchain sector. This marks Metaplanet's entry into a distinguished equity index, enhancing its visibility and credibility within the Asian crypto market. The company, led by CEO Simon Gerovich, aims to boost shareholder value through strategic Bitcoin accumulation, underscoring its commitment as a significant player in digital assets. Presently holding 1,108 BTC valued at approximately $69 million, Metaplanet has recently made significant purchases, including over 600 BTC last month alone. The CoinShares BLOCK Index encompasses 45 major players in the blockchain industry, employing a meticulous scoring system to evaluate companies based on various performance metrics. Following the announcement, Metaplanet's stock saw a slight decline, trading at 1,583 JPY (around $10.42).
