Meta is launching a new AI video editing feature on Instagram that will enable users to manipulate their videos simply by using text prompts. Instagram head Adam Mosseri revealed this feature, called Movie Gen, which allows users to modify various aspects of their videos, such as changing backgrounds, outfits, and visual styles, all triggered by written commands. During a demonstration, Mosseri showcased how the tool could seamlessly transform settings and appearances, suggesting a versatile capability for content creation. The Movie Gen AI model represents a significant leap in Meta’s offerings, allowing for easier and more extensive video manipulation, enhancing user experience. Meta aims to integrate this technology into Instagram by 2024, further expanding its creative tools in line with industry rivals such as OpenAI and Tencent, who have also introduced advanced video generation technologies.
