Microsoft is set to hold its annual shareholders meeting on December 9, where shareholders will vote on several proposals, including whether the company should invest in Bitcoin. According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the board is recommending against investing in Bitcoin, although it is unclear if this pertains to the cryptocurrency being added to Microsoft's balance sheet. Microsoft already allows customers to use Bitcoin for purchases in its online stores. If Microsoft decides to invest in Bitcoin, it would join a limited number of U.S. companies that have taken such a step. MicroStrategy is noted as the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, with substantial gains from its investments this year. However, the majority of public tech companies have not yet followed MicroStrategy's lead.
