Microsoft Could Make 'Next Trillion Dollars' With Bitcoin, Says Michael Saylor
Michael Saylor, the founder of MicroStrategy, has urged Microsoft to consider investing in Bitcoin, claiming it could significantly increase the company's value. He reached out to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella via social media, proposing that if the tech giant wanted to generate the next trillion dollars for its shareholders, it should contact him. This invitation follows a recent announcement that Microsoft shareholders will vote on a proposal regarding Bitcoin investment at the upcoming annual meeting on December 9. Saylor referenced MicroStrategy's successful investment strategy in Bitcoin, which began in 2020, leading the company to become the largest corporate holder of the cryptocurrency with approximately 252,220 Bitcoin worth about $16.8 billion. Despite Saylor's enthusiasm, Microsoft's board is reportedly recommending a vote against the Bitcoin investment proposal. Saylor has positioned himself as a vocal advocate for Bitcoin, referring to it as a superior store of value compared to traditional assets.
