Ruja Ignatova, known as the 'Crypto Queen,' is believed to be hiding in Russia to evade criminal charges related to her fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme, OneCoin. Ignatova disappeared in 2017 and has been untraceable since. Yoran Tsalov, an investigative journalist, noted her potential connections to the Kremlin and certain Ukrainian politicians during a BBC investigation. Tsalov revealed that Frank Schneider, Ignatova's former security advisor, confirmed these links. Schneider, a former Swiss spy, had been under house arrest in France but managed to escape extradition. Tsalov argues that if Schneider could evade such a situation, Ignatova could easily orchestrate her own disappearance from Bulgaria. There are various theories regarding Ignatova's whereabouts, with some believing she may be in South Africa or even killed. Many individuals wanted for crimes have successfully avoided extradition while in Russia.
