Mukesh Ambani’s Jio taps Polygon Labs for blockchain upgrades
Reliance Jio, a mobile network operator in India owned by Mukesh Ambani, has partnered with Polygon Labs to enhance its services with Web3 and blockchain technologies. This strategic alliance marks Jio’s entry into the Web3 space, aiming to serve its extensive user base of 450 million customers. Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal emphasized that this collaboration signals a milestone for Web3 adoption in India and offers opportunities for enhanced digital experiences, including better privacy and innovative services. The integration of Web3 capabilities is expected to simplify user engagement with blockchain solutions. Additionally, the Indian government recently launched NFT ticketing for a significant festival, further showcasing the potential of blockchain technology in India. The Polygon blockchain was specifically chosen for its low gas fees and fast transaction speed, which facilitate the creation of digital tickets, enriching user engagement while respecting the event's traditional values.
