In today's crypto news, the Nigerian government has dropped all charges against Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan, who had been detained for over seven months. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced the withdrawal during a court hearing, citing Gambaryan's deteriorating health and the intent to allow him to seek medical treatment abroad. Despite this, Nigeria will continue its case against Binance for money laundering. Additionally, a group of crypto academics has rebuked a European Central Bank paper that criticized Bitcoin, describing it as flawed and biased. The paper aimed to position Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) as superior. Furthermore, Canadian scientist Peter Todd revealed he has gone into hiding following claims in an HBO documentary labeling him as Bitcoin's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto. Todd criticized the documentary for exposing him to potential dangers because of the misinformation surrounding Nakamoto's identity.
