The 2024 United States elections have resulted in the election of 247 pro-crypto candidates to the House of Representatives and 15 to the Senate. The Stand With Crypto (SWC) website reports that few states remain without pro-crypto elected officials. Pro-crypto candidates received considerable financial backing with approximately $206 million donated to their campaigns. Notably, pro-crypto Republican Bernie Moreno beat incumbent Democrat Sherrod Brown in a highly contested Ohio Senate seat. Moreno garnered over 50% of the vote, aligning against an anti-crypto figure with strong connections to the SEC’s chair. Other pro-crypto candidates are leading in various races, such as Tim Sheehy in Montana and Dave McCormick in Pennsylvania. However, not all pro-crypto candidates succeeded; Elizabeth Warren won against crypto advocate John Deaton in Massachusetts, showcasing a mixed outcome for the pro-crypto movement in this election cycle.
