Pump.fun Attacker Seeks to Withdraw Guilty Plea as Lawyers Quit Case
Jarett Dunn, who pleaded guilty to fraud for draining approximately $2 million from the Solana meme coin platform Pump.fun, is seeking to withdraw his plea just before his scheduled sentencing. This request follows the withdrawal of his legal team, who advised against the plea withdrawal. Dunn confessed to siphoning funds from the token launchpad and redistributing them to various addresses in what some hailed as a Robin Hood-like act. His hearing at the Wood Green Crown Court surprised the judge, who noted that Dunn had previously confessed to the crime on several occasions. Dunn now has two weeks to secure new representation for a possible trial, where he hopes to present previously undisclosed details that could aid his defense. He expressed optimism about the outcome, indicating that despite the challenges ahead, he views the fight as worthwhile.
