Ripple, Archax debut first tokenized money market fund on XRP Ledger
Ripple has announced the launch of the first tokenized money market fund on the XRP Ledger, utilizing asset manager abrdn’s $4.77 billion US dollar Liquidity Fund. This initiative is in partnership with Archax, the UK’s first FCA-regulated cryptocurrency exchange and custodian. The development showcases the potential of tokenizing real-world assets (RWAs) to achieve operational cost savings and enhanced settlement efficiencies. Archax's CEO Graham Rodford emphasized the growing momentum in the tokenization space, noting that tokenized money market funds already account for over $1 billion in assets. Institutional investors will have exclusive access to abrdn’s money market fund via Archax’s platform, and Ripple is also investing $5 million into the fund. Ripple's XRP token has seen a significant surge, increasing by approximately 27.9% recently, reflecting its competitive position in the RWA market, which faces competition from Ethereum and Stellar. As this sector grows, Ripple aims to capture a larger share of the estimated $16 trillion in assets to be tokenized by 2030.
