Ripple Drops Another $25M Into Crypto PAC to Sway 2026 Congressional Races
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse announced that the company will contribute an additional $25 million to the Fairshake political action committee, boosting its total funding to $103 million for the upcoming U.S. congressional elections. This contribution is part of an effort by Ripple, Coinbase, and venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) to support pro-crypto candidates. Fairshake has already made significant strides in securing campaign funds, amassing a total of $73 million in fresh commitments alongside $30 million rolled over from the 2024 cycle. Ripple, a key player in this funding initiative, aims to influence legislation favorable to digital assets. The PAC's record includes backing 53 members of Congress, highlighting its effectiveness in past elections. By aligning with both parties, Fairshake focuses on collaborative efforts to pass crypto-related legislation as the industry awaits regulatory clarity from the U.S. government, which has been lacking for years. Garlinghouse emphasized that supporting candidates who favor crypto innovation is integral to maintaining momentum within the industry.
