Chris Larsen, co-founder of Ripple Labs, has donated an additional $10 million in XRP to bolster Kamala Harris's campaign for the U.S. presidency. This marks his latest support amid a significant fundraising effort by Harris's campaign. Larsen confirmed the donation in a tweet, emphasizing the need for the Democratic party to adopt a fresh strategy towards technology innovation, particularly in cryptocurrency. Earlier, he had already donated nearly $1 million in XRP to the same Political Action Committee (PAC). Despite Ripple's ongoing legal battles with the SEC concerning XRP's status as a security, Larsen expressed confidence in Harris's potential to lead U.S. technology initiatives. Ripple Labs CEO Brad Garlinghouse also voiced support for Larsen's political contributions, highlighting the need for promoting pro-crypto policies among both major political parties as the election approaches. This financial backing aligns with an increasing industry interest in the outcomes of the upcoming election, especially regarding cryptocurrency regulation.
