Dubai-based Sigma Capital has launched a $100 million fund to invest in 100 early-stage Web3 projects, 25 liquid tokens, and 10 fund-of-fund allocations. This capital will focus on sectors such as decentralized finance, blockchain infrastructure, metaverse, and gaming. The fund will be led by Vineet Budki, previously associated with Cypher Capital, which has funded multiple blockchain initiatives. Sandeep Nailwal, founder of Polygon, praised this move as a demonstration of the UAE's growing relevance in the blockchain ecosystem. Recent trends show a rising interest in crypto venture capital, with projections indicating a 50% increase in activity by the end of 2025. This upward trend is attributed to favorable regulatory conditions and declining interest rates in the U.S. Additionally, substantial growth in real-world asset funding rounds is expected over the coming year, potentially expanding the sector significantly by 2030.
