Starknet has launched its SN Stack, a dedicated rollup chain tech stack that enables developers to create validity rollup chains with customizable parameters. This new framework utilizes components such as Starknet OS, CairoVM, and the Blockifier execution engine, allowing flexibility in block times and sizes. Developers can choose between Madara, designed for rapid appchain development, and Dojo, focused on on-chain gaming applications. Starknet appchains will integrate with StarkWare's sequencer infrastructure, which is set to become open source. ZK-STARKs—an advanced form of zero-knowledge proofs—offer enhanced cryptographic security by eliminating the need for initial trusted setups. A proof-based interoperability solution is in development, which will leverage Starknet’s forthcoming open-sourced prover (Stark Two). While SN Stack currently has one rollup, a perpetuals exchange, Starknet's history of rollup stacks traces back to Ethereum's roadmap in 2020, sparking competition among various rollup tech stacks like Optimism's OP Stack and Arbitrum. Starknet has yet to reveal its monetization strategy for SN Stack, with confirmations of future announcements regarding this topic.
