Starknet launches SN Stack, allowing developers to build custom chains
Starknet, a zero-knowledge layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum, has introduced the Starknet Stack, a software suite enabling developers to create custom blockchains using its zero-knowledge technology. The suite comes in three presets: StarkWare Sequencer, Madera (fully customizable and open-source), and Dojo (optimized for gaming). Leo Sizaret from StarkWare emphasized that zero-knowledge technologies promise exceptional security and scalability while being quantum resistant and cost-efficient. The significance of this release is heightened by concerns that quantum computers may soon compromise encryption used in current blockchain networks. Zero-knowledge tech allows data verification while concealing specific content, with ZK-stark powering Starknet. Following recent research on enhancing Ethereum's post-quantum security, experts highlight the viability of hash-based zero-knowledge proofs to protect against quantum threats, despite sensationalist reports claiming breakthroughs in quantum computing that threaten current encryption standards.
