Tether launches open-source wallet development kit for humans and AI
Tether has introduced an open-source wallet development kit (WDK) aimed at enabling businesses and developers to integrate non-custodial wallets for USDT and Bitcoin into any application, website, or device. Announced on November 11, the WDK is characterized as modular, allowing for easy integration and support for both human users and AI agents. Key features include giving users full control over their non-custodial assets, minimizing reliance on third-party custody, and providing a simplified setup process. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino emphasized the WDK's compatibility across various systems, anticipating expansion to include user interface templates for diverse non-custodial experiences. Tether continues to dominate the stablecoin market, holding approximately $124 billion in USDT and showcasing its extensive reserves, which include US Treasurys, Bitcoin, and gold.
