Tether will relocate HQ to El Salvador after securing license
Tether has announced its decision to relocate its headquarters from the British Virgin Islands to El Salvador following the acquisition of a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) license in the country. The company emphasizes that the move is motivated by El Salvador's progressive policies and favorable regulatory environment for digital assets. Tether's Chief Technology Officer, Paolo Ardoino, along with COO Claudia Lagorio, has previously secured real estate and naturalized citizenship in El Salvador in 2024. This transition marks a significant step for Tether as it seeks to expand its operations in a country known for its proactive stance on cryptocurrency regulation.
