TradFi Firms Are Flocking to Crypto After Trump Win
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse reported that traditional finance (TradFi) leaders are increasingly open to cryptocurrency following Donald Trump's election victory. In the six weeks post-election, Ripple signed more new clients than in the previous six months combined. Many new clients from TradFi have expressed willingness to engage with crypto, citing reduced regulatory fears. Garlinghouse noted that under the Biden administration, financial institutions were reluctant to participate due to regulatory concerns. With Trump's return, however, optimism is high, evident in Ripple's hiring shift: 75% of its new roles are US-based, contrasting the trend of recent years when most hires were overseas due to regulatory challenges. Garlinghouse emphasized that the crypto sector's health extends beyond prices, citing hiring and contract growth as significant indicators. Additionally, he hinted at discussions with Trump's transition team regarding future crypto policy, signaling potentially favorable conditions ahead for the industry.
