Treasure Launches New Ethereum Gaming Chain With ZKsync, Leaving Arbitrum
Treasure has launched its new Ethereum layer-2 network using ZKsync, marking a departure from its previous reliance on Arbitrum. This transition aims to address the gaming-specific needs of its ecosystem, enabling features such as gasless transactions and social account creation. The network will utilize the MAGIC token and requires the migration of over 15 games and hundreds of thousands of NFTs from Arbitrum. Treasure co-founder Vuong emphasized the importance of a gaming-first approach, which involves tailored infrastructure and reduced transaction costs for improved user experience. The mainnet launch is ahead of schedule, with several games anticipated to debut by the end of 2024 and additional titles expected in Q1 2025. The launch is accompanied by a campaign to mint daily free NFTs as part of a collector's initiative. Staking for the MAGIC token is also set to be introduced, significantly enhancing the Treasure platform as a decentralized gaming console.
