Trump Appoints Musk and Ramaswamy to New Government Efficiency Agency
In today's crypto news, President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead a newly established government agency, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This agency aims to cut federal spending and reduce regulations. ConsenSys CEO Joe Lubin expressed that Ethereum stands to gain significantly from the administration, highlighting its previous challenges under U.S. government scrutiny. Since Trump's election win, Dogecoin's price surged approximately 150%. Lubin also noted that Ethereum is more mature compared to other protocols and is poised to benefit more than Bitcoin, which increased by 16%. Trump's strategy includes potentially replacing SEC Chair Gary Gensler with someone appointed during a Senate recess. This approach could expedite key appointments in his administration.
